Dallas Arboretum November 2012

Sometimes when the weather is so nice that I can’t bear to be inside, I want to escape and go somewhere with my camera.  Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and I think the main reason is the sense of relief I get from the brutal Texas summers.  The Dallas Arboretum is always decorated so beautifully in the Fall, but this year, it was a must-see destination because Chihuly has an exposition there until the end of the year.  It was fabulous seeing his work that I had only seen before indoors and under glass, outside and larger than life.

I call this one “camouflage”

It is hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be this one: (I think it was titled Carnival Boat)

I couldn’t resist shooting this couple through the larger-than-life frame 🙂

There are lots more photos in my gallery, if you care to look. 🙂

    • Jessica – I know! I was amazed at the creative process. Scouts took pictures all over the park, then he picked out the locations and what he wanted to design where. Then, he made them in his studio, and then shipped them in. He came for the final approval of the installation. No pieces broke during transport – can you imagine the amount of packing peanuts used? 😉
